Introducing Raymond Sutton Ranch!

2X AQHA Legacy Breeder & AQHA Hall of Fame

Welcome to the 75 th Annual Raymond Sutton Ranch Production Sale!!  We believe
this is the oldest Quarter Horse production sale in the world. We are a working
ranch that raises horses, cattle and bison. Our family has been raising superior
quality horses and cattle for over a century.  In 2001, we joined the elite list of the
first 48 breeders to receive the AQHA Legacy Award for 50 continuous years of
raising Quarter Horses. In 2026 there were only two breeders receiving a 75 - year
recognition. We were one of the two!! In 2018 Ray and Georga were inducted into
the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame.

We are Ranching Heritage Breeders.
Sale horses are eligible for enrollment in Ranching Heritage competition. Our
select band of mares and stallion battery are among the top in the nation. Stoppin
At Starbucks is a 2X Reserve World Champion, In 2019 Wimpys High Roller was
2nd in AQHA Year-end standings for open senior stallions and in the top 15 for all
age stallions. In 2017 CD Cut the Lights was 7th in AQHA Year-end standings for
All Age Stallions in tie-down roping. The World Champion Palomino Youth 14-18
Barrel Horse and the WPRCA Barrel Horse of the Year were both purchased as
weanlings in our sale. Solid Gold Edition tied for 5th in year-end standings for
AQHA Senior Stallions.  The produce of Miss Winning Gal was first in AQHA
Produce of Dam. Bills Rock tied for 1st in AQHA Get-of-Sire standings for 2
years; Barnone Impressive was 3rd. Patty Punk tied for 1st in AQHA Produce of
Dam and Peggy Note was 1st.  In 2017 the ranch had horses qualified for the
World Show in Heading, Heeling, Calf Roping, Amateur Cutting, Junior Working
Cowhorse, and Ranch Riding. In 2026 we qualified for the AQHA Versatility
Finals, The AQHA World in Sr Cutting, Tie Down and Breakaway Roping.

Foals run in hundreds of acres in our river pastures. The natural conditions allow foals to
develop bone structure, heart and lungs, and the muscular system. The large
pastures give developing foals physical and mental experiences that develop
overall body strength and athletic ability.

In the many years we have been
raising livestock, we have gained a respected reputation for fair dealing and
standing behind what we sell. We value the trust people place in us.

How to Register and Bid

Beneath each colt, you'll find a "Register to Bid" prompt. You'll need to click on that and then follow the prompts. Returning Horse Auctions USA users will enter their email/password. NEW users on Horse Auctions USA will click on the bottom line that says "No Account? Sign up here" and proceed.

You will need to register with a valid credit/debit card in order to bid. Upon registration, Horse Auctions USA will place a $500 preauthorization on that card as a good faith hold (much like when you rent a car). We hate that this is necessary however, with internet scammers ever increasing in numbers, it is unfortunately a step we must take to ensure our bidders are real live humans, over the age of 18, with a valid payment method for winning bids. This hold will be released at the conclusion of the auction and vanish as if it was never there. It is NOT a charge - it will remain pending and never complete.

Once registration is complete, you are "off to the races" so to speak and can get to bidding! You can elect to bid as you go, placing bids when you receive a notification that you have been outbid by another bidder OR, you can "set it and forget it"  Much like ebay, you can opt to enter a "Max Bid" using the drop down arrow to the right of the bid button. If choosing this option, the computer will then essentially do the work for you, only raising your bid by the next available bidding increment when another bidder raises the current bid. This is a very nice hands free option that works well with busy schedules! You can of course jump in and adjust that max bid up as needed.

While you can absolutely elect to participate from the website or the Horse Auctions USA app, we do recommend the app for timed online only auctions for those of you using an iPhone or iPad.  Unfortunately, the app is unavailable for our Android users but the website will work just fine on your phone's browser. Should you be outbid, you will receive an instant notification. If you don't have the app, this notification will go to your registered email. If you do have the app and have notifications enabled, you will get an instant notification directly to your phone so you don't miss out!

Should you be the lucky winning bidder, first, CONGRATULATIONS!  Second, you're probably wondering how to proceed!

Horse Auctions USA will email you over an invoice with the total amount due. This amount is to be paid directly to Raymond Sutton Ranch in the form of cash, good check, or a wire transfer (US Funds). Payment needs to be made within 24 hours of the auction closing unless prior arrangements were made directly with Raymond Sutton Ranch. Please be sure to READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS!
